Manual inspection and trimming with comfort and efficiency
The CheckLine inspection and trimming station can ensure consistent quality of breast fillets, with no visible fat or other irregularities. As a highly ergonomic station, it is fit to perform 100% inspection and trimming after breast deboning.
A fair share
CheckLine distributes the incoming fillets fairly between operators. Each person gets their turn, one after the other, in a fixed order. When the last operator has had his or her turn, the process repeats.
Using the HMI screen, the line manager can adjust the share of the total that each operator receives. Let’s assume there is a lot to trim and some trimmers cannot keep up. CheckLine can then send less to new staff, more to experienced staff, or the same share to everyone. In every case, CheckLine gives the flexibility to make the right distribution. It is up to the line manager’s judgment to set the distribution in the best way.
100% inspection
Trimming of products is needed to remove unwanted fat, skin, bones, and blood spots. For full 100% human inspection, CheckLine can handle large quantities and staff numbers by offering up to 16 trim positions, with a trimming capacity of up to 100 products per minute. This is an ideal solution when all fillets must be checked manually.
The operators inspect every fillet one by one. If it is good, they put it straight onto the top outfeed belt. If it needs trimming, the operator trims it first and then also puts the fillet on the same outfeed belt. Offcuts go into a crate or onto an offcut conveyor.
Better ergonomics
Trimming is a labor-intensive, physically tough task. It involves repetitive arm movements, standing for long periods, and working in a cold area. JBT Marel’s CheckLine helps address these challenges by making the work more efficient and comfortable. This inspection and trimming station features the latest ergonomics and safety standards, resulting in a more efficient inspection and trimming process.
Each operator has a height-adjustable step and easy access to the top belt. Operators get fillets automatically delivered to their own workstation thanks to the catcher arms (aka flippers). The infeed and outfeed conveyors are placed at the most comfortable working height. Operators no longer have to reach for products, which reduces fatigue, physical strain, and improves comfort.
