Supplier expectations
At JBT Marel, we have established clear expectations for our suppliers to ensure responsible and sustainable business practices. We strictly prohibit forced labor, child labor, human trafficking, and modern slavery, as outlined in our Supplier Code of Conduct and supporting policies.
These expectations are further reinforced by our JBT Marel Guide to Ethical Conduct, our Health, Safety & Environmental Policy Statement, and our Conflict Minerals Policy. Additionally, we adhere to the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and the UK Modern Slavery Act to ensure transparency and compliance.
Supplier assessment process
To ensure our suppliers meet these expectations, JBT Marel conducts assessments, which are central to our approach. We perform due diligence on conflict minerals to mitigate risks, and we evaluate suppliers on their environmental impact, labor practices, and human rights through a supplier's sustainability assessment.
We actively monitor compliance to drive continuous improvement and maintain open communication with our suppliers to address any issues that arise.
Environmental accountability
At JBT Marel, environmental accountability is a core priority. Our supply chain partners play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, which are an element of our total carbon footprint. To address this challenge, we have established clear sustainability standards for our suppliers through our Supplier Code of Conduct.
We encourage our supply partners to engage in carbon reporting and set reduction targets. Additionally, we prioritize the sourcing of low carbon, renewable, or recycled materials and production methods wherever feasible. This approach ensures that our suppliers are aligned with our commitment to environmental responsibility.
Data collection and collaborative efforts
Building on our commitment to environmental accountability, as of 2025, we have successfully collected GHG emissions data from more than half of our core suppliers. This data collection effort is pivotal in identifying opportunities for emission reductions and supports our annual Scope 3 reporting.
The reporting process is streamlined through the use of automated dashboards and third-party platforms, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Furthermore, we conduct lifecycle assessments and in-house measurements to improve data quality regarding raw material impacts, ensuring transparency and accountability in our sourcing practices.
