JBT Marel PMJ’s Pre-Scalder removes the majority of dirt and other small particles from the feather pack in this early stage, thereby preparing much cleaner conditions for the main scalder.
The Pre-Scalder is specially developed to improve the processing performance for ducks and other waterfowl. Once the worst dirt and particles are already removed from the feathers, the main scalder has the opportunity to concentrate on the thorough loosening of the feathers while keeping the scald water much cleaner during the process. Another advantage is the partial opening of the feather pack. This significantly improves the scalding performance as the bird’s skin can be reached easily.
The integrated water treatment system circulates and heats the water. Larger particles will be filtered out of the water by the built-in filter screen and a pump.
