Seafood Processing Global 2026 in Barcelona marked a landmark moment for JBT Marel - the first major industry expo since the merger between JBT and Marel was fully completed. New machines that stopped people in their tracks

The new whitefish skinner made a strong debut, with two customers signing purchase agreements on the spot and a growing waitlist of companies eager to trial the machine. The EVi - JBT Marel's new state-of-the-art gutting machine - drew significant attention as one of the most talked-about innovations at the show, set to come to market later this year. A new salmon slicer also turned heads, with a Danish customer signing on the stand.

The combined filleting and deheading solution - the MS2750 and MS3028 - was one of the standout performers of the week, with fixed demos running several times a day to packed audiences and strong commercial traction throughout.

A complete processing solution on display

JBT Marel used the Barcelona platform to demonstrate the full breadth of what the combined company can offer. The complete JBT Marel product line was well represented on the stand, including the Schröder injector, and a strong showing from the Virtual Hub, Software and Service teams - underlining that JBT Marel is not just an equipment supplier but a complete processing partner from catch to consumer. Product specialists from Frigoscandia, and Proseal, were part of the stand crew, presenting our capabilities in freezing and packing of end products., further strengthening the message of a truly end-to-end solution.

Stronger together

This expo was the first real opportunity for JBT Marel to present itself to the industry as a fully unified company, and the response was clear. The merger has significantly strengthened the product offering in seafood, with the combined expertise of both companies enabling JBT Marel to offer end-to-end solutions spanning gutting and filleting, further processing, packaging and software integration, all supported by our Service team.
"This is one of the best seafood expos we have ever been part of," said Skúli Sigurðsson, VP of Fish at JBT Marel. "We can see that the work of the past few years is paying off and the interest in our solutions has never been stronger."

With record stand traffic, multiple contracts signed and a pipeline of new opportunities created, Barcelona 2026 sets a high bar - and signals clearly where JBT Marel is headed.
