Frigoscandia’s journey in the freezer industry began with the discovery of efficient processing, packing, freezing, and storage methods for vegetables, fruit, and berries. Established in Helsingborg, Sweden, the company emerged as a pioneer in the deep-freezing industry, contributing significantly to the development of the industry. Our Helsingborg location remains the heart of our research and development in freezer technology.
Frigoscandia began pioneering industrial freezing in 1960 with the invention of fluidized bed freezing technology, leading to the creation of the groundbreaking FLoFREEZE® IQF Freezer. This innovation, initially designed for freezing peas, remains a vital part of our Frigoscandia product line. It symbolizes our pioneering spirit and is reflected in product names like FLoFREEZE®, GYRoCOMPACT®, FRIGoBELT®, and FRIGoDRIVE®, with the small 'o' representing the frozen pea that started it all.
Frigoscandia developed and launched the legendary self-stacking GYRoCOMPACT® Spiral freezer soon after, and that has become the best-selling spiral freezer ever made, with thousands of freezers sold and in operation around the world.
A later addition to the Frigoscandia product lines is the ADVANTEC™ Impingement freezer, which delivers exceptional quick-freezing performance for thinner products or surface stabilization prior to portioning of protein food products.
